Fair Trade Month in Sitges – Activity Program
Organized by: Sitges Solidari, in collaboration with the Sitges Town Council (Department of Civil Rights)
The program in Sitges includes three main activities.
On May 12, the Josep Roig i Raventós Library joins the initiative by featuring fair trade as the theme of Storytelling Day, with the activity “The Revolt of the Chatty T-Shirts”, a family-friendly storytelling session led by Clown Trafalgar. It invites reflection on the origin of clothing and labor conditions in the textile industry. Time: 5:30 p.m.
At the same time, next to the library in Catalunya Square, Sitges Solidari will host a fair trade product exhibition and a chocolate tasting.
On May 26, also at 5:30 p.m., the library will offer the workshop “Decoration with Coffee and Cocoa Sacks: Creativity, Reuse and Fair Trade”, focused on material reuse and conscious consumption.
Finally, on May 30, Sitges Solidari will set up a fair trade product stand at the entrance of the Municipal Market from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
All activities are open to the public and aim to create spaces for awareness, reflection, and participation around fair trade and a more ethical and sustainable economic model.
