Private & Small Group Experiences from Barcelona & Sitges
See Catalonia with someone who truly loves showing it to you.
There are plenty of ways to see Catalonia. Papa Bear Tours is for people who want to experience it a little differently — personally, comfortably and without feeling like they’re on a tour.
At the heart of Papa Bear Tours is Yiorgos — aka Papa Bear — quite simply one of the warmest, friendliest and most good-energy people you’ll ever meet.
He knows Catalonia, loves its history and culture, and has a natural way of making everyone feel welcome from the moment they meet him. Yiorgos speaks perfect English, along with several other languages, and whether you’re travelling as a couple, with friends, as a family or on your own, you’ll quickly feel like you’re spending the day with a local friend.
There are stories and history, of course. But there’s also time to wander, stop for a coffee or a great lunch, discover somewhere unexpected and actually enjoy where you are.
No scripts. No big buses. No rushing from one photo stop to the next.
Just great places, good conversation and a memorable day in Catalonia.

WHERE WE GO
GIRONA
One of those cities that immediately makes you want to keep exploring. Walk the ancient Jewish Quarter, cross the river beside Girona’s colourful houses and discover medieval streets that have survived for centuries. And yes, Game of Thrones fans will recognize quite a few places along the way.
BESALÚ
A spectacular medieval village approached across its iconic 12th-century stone bridge. Cobbled lanes, ancient buildings and hidden corners make Besalú feel remarkably untouched by time.
PERATALLADA
Small, beautiful and ridiculously charming. Stone houses, tiny lanes, flowers spilling from balconies and inviting restaurants make Peratallada one of those places where wandering around with nowhere particular to be is exactly the point.
CALELLA DE PALAFRUGELL
The Costa Brava at its best. Whitewashed houses, little beaches, fishing boats, impossibly blue Mediterranean water and beautiful coastal walks. Come for the scenery; stay for a long seaside lunch.
COLLIOURE, FRANCE
Cross the border for a day in one of southern France’s most beautiful seaside towns, where Catalan character meets French style. Colourful waterfront buildings, cafés, galleries and Mediterranean views have attracted artists here for generations.
TARRAGONA
Roman history with a Mediterranean backdrop. Explore the remains of ancient Tarraco, including its extraordinary seaside amphitheatre, before wandering through the lively historic centre of modern Tarragona.
MONTBLANC
A beautifully preserved medieval town still surrounded by its ancient walls and towers. Montblanc is filled with history, legends and atmospheric streets — and remains one of Catalonia’s great under-the-radar discoveries.
LA ROCA VILLAGE
For a completely different kind of day, head to one of Europe’s best-known luxury outlet destinations. International designer brands, year-round savings, attractive surroundings and plenty of places to stop for lunch or a drink make shopping here feel decidedly more civilized.
OR LET YIORGOS CREATE YOUR DAY
Some of the best experiences don’t fit neatly into an itinerary.
Tell Yiorgos what you love — medieval villages, the coast, food, wine, history, shopping, photography or simply beautiful places — and he can create a private day around you.
Want to linger over lunch? We can.
Love somewhere and want to stay longer? Stay longer.
See something interesting along the way? Let’s stop.
It’s your day.
