The tradition of making carpets of flowers for Corpus in Sitges dates back to immemorial, but there is a date that marks a definite boost, 1952, when Sitges Tourism Promotion organized the first Flower Carpet Contest.

Within the Festival of Corpus of Sitges we can find, in addition to the traditional carpets made by neighbors, organizations and institutions, a craft fair products on Paseo de la Ribera in Sitges, the National Carnation Exhibition, the Bonsai Exhibition, the proclamation of Clavell by a known personality, Carnation Offering exposed to the Virgen del Vinyet, Competition floral ornamentation of facades and balconies, giant parade, the dancing egg in the Palau Maricel, Palacio del Rey Moro, Garden Hospital of St. John the Baptist and the Romantic Museum - Can Llopis Sitges ... Several restaurants offer floral menus during the week of Corpus, and other dining establishments offer as ice cream and cake varieties, all designed to enjoy the Corpus gladly.
